  Spent 4 hours yesterday getting new boots and a ski helmet. That 4 hours might seem a long time but that's my choice. Ski gear is important to get right, they know that at the alpine room you can try on as much as you like for as long as you like until you know you've got the best gear possible for you. Been shopping there for 20 years, the shop floor space might seem small but theyll have the size you want. Highly recommended, support the little guy, you won't get flapjacks and coffee elsewhere!

  I went in the Alpine Room ski shop at 5.15pm Monday 6 March 2017 and I was told they were shutting. I replied 'but I thought you closed at 5.30pm?' 'Yes' , a man behind the counter said, 'that is in ten minutes!'. After this the man showed no interest in what i was asking about the ski helmets ans said they were all the same, all met safety stanmdards. When i asked why some were more expensive, he repied 'some have padding, but you do not have time try them now.' He then said he had to go out and was closing. I can quite honestly say that I have never been so rudely spoken to in all my life in a shop. The older man that spoke to me has clearly no customer service experience and does not know how to talk to customers. Further I went to the shop to buy a ski helmet as I was going skiing the next day and now i have no ski helmet because the man would not serve me as he said it took half an hour to fit. Rude! Thank you Alpine, you will never see my custom again!
